It’s like an oven in here!May 26th, 2007 @ 8:40 pm
It got to 80 something today, according to some weather site I found. It’s probably even hotter than that in our room, because we’re on the sixth floor of the apartment and in our room, we have two desktop computers and a laptop. Not to mention all our boxes, so the heat is just sitting in here. It’s a world of difference between here and the hallway. I miss air conditioning, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
We had Swiss Chalet for dinner tonight. It was good food, but the service was pretty bad. The guy was new, so I don’t entirely hold it against him, but he didn’t seem to know what was going on. Plus, Matt’s dinner said very clearly that it came with a soft drink, but after they gave us our food, they wouldn’t give us one. They said that we had to order it specifically. You wouldn’t think so, since it was on the menu, but whatever. They were going to charge us over a dollar for a tiny can of soda, so it wasn’t worth it.
Anyway, we’ve got our soft new comforter and the niftiest fan ever (it’s one of those tower fans that swings back and forth… I’ll find a picture of it later, maybe) and Star Wars loaded into the computer to play, so it’s relaxing time! I’m finally intrigued enough to see all of the movies without falling asleep. I’m only about 100 years behind the times, but whatever, better late than never, right?

I have only one window in my room and it is always closed because there is so much stuff on the window sill that I can’t even open it. In Summer it’s boiling in here. The pc doesn’t help neither.

Just reading about someone posting about Swiss Chalet makes me get all teary-eyed. (It’s like when someone mentions Tim Hortons.) I really miss home some days.
And ummm, maybe this will sound strange, but I was wondering if you’d like to affiliate? I was reading over your bio and wow… I used to have mine posted on my site (removed it 2 years ago) and it read like yours, almost word for word. You have my email address now. If you’re interested in getting to know more please send me a mail?
Take care,
Candace.

I’ve never seen the Star Wars movies, either, so don’t feel so bad. There are people out there also as far behind the times as you are! I am also melting and want the air conditioner in, but last summer the day the air conditioner went in, the next week or so was incredibly cold and that’d be just my luck again.
