Weekend Wrap-Up
August 3rd, 2008 @ 5:39 pm

That’s right, I’ve decided to add something new to Words Unspoken. I haven’t done anything new and exciting in ages, so I’m going to start this. Here’s the deal - I spend a lot of time online, just discovering new sites and different little places on the internet that I consider myself lucky to have found. However, I realized that most people don’t get to see these sites, so I’ve decided to share them with you! I may do them with themes every week, or I may do themes some weeks and not others, but I will always have something new and exciting! This week’s theme is photography. I just happened to come across a bunch of photos that I thought I absolutely had to share.

This week’s finds:

  • Hong Kong De Noche & Hong Kong Travel Guide - I never knew how incredible Hong Kong looked. So busy, so alive! These two photos alone have made me want to visit there someday.
  • America in the 1930s - You may have to register to view this as it seems you can only view threads a certain number of times when you’re a guest, but I can assure you it’s well worth it. It shows a completely different side of the Depression than most are used to seeing, and it’s very moving.
  • He Took a Polaroid Every Day, Until the Day He Died - An interesting article about a man who did exactly what the title suggests - took a Polaroid photo of himself every day, right up until the day he died. It’s also an incredibly moving series of photographs.
  • Eureka Carpark - Melbourne - Has anyone ever seen this? I couldn’t believe my eyes. “The distored letters on the wall can be read perfectly when standing at the right position.” Incredible!

So that’s this week’s Weekend Wrap-Up. Do you have any interesting sites you think I should include in next week’s? Send them to me! I’m always glad to take suggestions!
