I'm Ang.

I'm a 23-year-old married woman who followed her heart (and her husband!) to Nova Scotia, where I'm currently a housewife, planning my future. I'm a huge computer nerd, especially when it comes to video games. I'm a fan of lists and spend a lot of time making them, even if they have no purpose at all. Want to know more?

Win a handbag!

Teresa is holding a new contest over at her personal blog. Those entering have a chance at winning a lovely and uniquely designed dandelion handbag by Rebecca Weis. Teresa is willing to ship this item anywhere, so anyone can participate.

This handbag is absolutely beautiful! I want it! It’d be a fantastic birthday present for me if I won it, haha! :P

You can’t be serious.

Are you kidding me? (by angelamaphone)

Look at this weather. WHY is it snowing again? I just got rid of the crap. My birthday is in 9 days. If it’s snowing on my birthday, I will cry. For real. Not fair!

650.

Can you believe it? This is my 650th post here at Words Unspoken. This blog has seen a lot of ups and downs, just like I have.

Lately I’ve not been in a blogging mood. I’m just in a… weird mood, I guess. That’s the only way to even remotely explain it. I’m dealing with my issues as they come, and trying to push myself past them. I got my extension, for those of you wondering, so I’m legal for a bit longer. Now I have to push my paperwork through and send it away in the next three months, which will be daunting and to be honest, I’m terrified, but it’s got to be done! One step at a time, I guess.

I’ve been doing a lot of fill-in puzzles lately. I bought a book a few days ago (a week ago, I guess?) and now I’m on page 47. I did one on the exercise bike yesterday at the gym, but that didn’t go over too well. Whoops!

Speaking of the gym, I walked there again today, even though I just went yesterday. Boy, were my legs mad at me for walking there! Halfway there I got to the point where I wanted to just sit down and send mental messages to Matt to come pick me up because my legs were burning so bad I didn’t think I’d make it. But I did! Turns out I got there early for the “party” thing they had going on today, so I had to do something. So, I hopped on a bike, biked a mile, then did a Body Flow class.

When I got to the class, one of the ladies that I always see in there approached me. We had our usual “Hi, how are you” greeting, and then she said something that really shocked me. “Boy, you’re really losing a lot of weight, aren’t you?” I was amazed. I haven’t lost a pound, and I told her so. She replied “Well, then you must be toning up, because you look smaller than when you first came in!” I told her that she had just made my month, and really, she did. That was the best thing for me to hear today when I’ve been feeling so helpless about my weight. As Stacy said, all my hard work is finally paying off in a real way. Thank goodness!

Speaking of Stacy, my bestest friend in the whole world (haha, did I give you a flashback to 5th grade there?), her birthday was today yesterday. Darn me not going bed until the next day. Anyway, I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, I hope it was fantastic! I know you didn’t get to do what you had hoped to do, since your guild is doing its… well, its thing, but I hope it was good anyway! ♥

Anyway, I have photos uploading on Flickr and have to pick out what we’re watching when we go to bed tonight. I’m thinking it’ll be The Other Sister followed by Season 1 of Scrubs, and then maybe House afterward, just so it doesn’t go blank in the middle of the night.

Goodnight everyone!

You probably didn’t notice, but…

I’ve upgraded Wordpress finally! I was putting off doing it because I was afraid that I’d screw up my entire site and lose the past three years of work, but it’s here and working and doing awesome, all thanks to Matt!

I’ve been trying to keep myself busy lately. I still have so much cleaning to do in the bedroom that it’s ridiculous. Maybe I’ll do that after this post. Who knows!

My brain is a bit all over the place, so this entry will be, too! Maybe if I do it in a list format it’ll be easier. Let’s see…

  • My birthday is coming up! Believe it or not, I totally forgot how old I was turning the other day. I was like “Oh, look, I’ll be 24 in X days… wait… that doesn’t sound right…” I had to add up the years to figure it out. Is dementia setting in already? I sure hope not. 23 isn’t nearly old enough to lose my memory!
  • I’ve dug my iPAQ out of hiding for the first time in about a year. I’ve been using it a lot, but am disappointed in it for two reasons.
    • Nobody seems to make software (free software, that is) for this old version of Windows Mobile, so there’s not a lot I can put on it. I forget where I used to find all of the old software that I had on it, so I can’t go back and find it!
    • My high-capacity SD card isn’t recognized by it, and my regular SD card is only 128mb, so I can’t put videos on it like I’d hoped and watch them while I’m at the gym (or in the tub!). Boo!
  • I burned 1300 calories today with my workout. No joke. I walked to the gym (about a mile), then did weights (about half my usual circuit) then biked a mile on the stationery bike. Then I took two classes: Body Flow (the tai chi/yoga/pilates class) and Body Attack, which is a very fast-paced high impact cardio class. After that, as much as I dreaded it at this point, I made the long (a mile, remember?) trek home, where I promptly sat in my chair and wanted to sleep! It was worth it though. More days like these and I’ll look better than ever before long!
  • I updated a TON of pictures to my Flickr yesterday from a trip we took ten days ago (whoops!) to Bridgewater. It was a gorgeous drive there and back, and I’m glad I took the camera (and extra batteries!).
  • I’ve suggested to Jane that we do what I mentioned in the blog entry before this, for the Sex and the City movie. I don’t want to just make it “just another trip to the movies” - I’ve been waiting a few years for the movie and the characters, as stupid as this sounds, are like close friends! To quote Miranda, “It is a big fucking deal!” So hopefully we can make a bigger deal out of it than any other movie I’ve went to see.
  • Speaking of Jane, we’re going to get together sometime this week and go downtown and have a lunch and walk around taking photos and stuff. I’m looking so forward to it! The weather is just starting to get nice and people are out and about. It should be fun!

So there’s my life lately in a nutshell. A whirlwind of events, but I love it!

May 03 2007

Yay birthday!

Technically I’ll be 22 in about… 48 minutes. 10:22 PM EST. So 11:22 PM here. There’s your useless fact for the day, guard it well.

Dinner was fabulous. Matt and I went to Mexicali Rosa’s. I had a beef burrito and a tamale with a Sangria (yum!) and Matt had a chicken enchilada and a beef burrito. It was amazingly good. It’s the best Mexican food I’ve found here yet, which isn’t saying too much, since other than a very low-quality taco bell, it’s the only Mexican food, but hey, you take what you can get, right?

Matt got me some awesome gifts, too. He got me the World of Warcraft time card that I wanted, since I’ve been missing the game a bit lately. He also got me Guild Wars. I’ve been wanting to try this game for ages, so we’ll see how it is! I’m definitely curious.

All in all, it was a wonderful birthday. I’m glad I have such fantastic friends and such an amazing husband to spend it with.

Saturday will be fun, too. Amy and I are going to go downtown and to cross off some items on my 101 things list. I’m definitely looking forward to it!
