I'm Ang.

I'm a 23-year-old married woman who followed her heart (and her husband!) to Nova Scotia, where I'm currently a housewife, planning my future. I'm a huge computer nerd, especially when it comes to video games. I'm a fan of lists and spend a lot of time making them, even if they have no purpose at all. Want to know more?

When all else fails, check the date.

Apparently, in this case, I fail. For the past few days, I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with my computer, and why it wouldn’t let me go to certain websites (online banking being one of them). Then, I discovered that my MSN wouldn’t log me in on Trillian, and that made me want to pull my hair out! I then tried to download the actual MSN messenger (Live? MSN? Windows? Who knows, they keep changing it!) and install it, and that wouldn’t work.

All this time, and I sat here like an idiot, trying to figure it out. Matt sits down for a few minutes, tests a couple small things, and then realizes it’s my date. He did a few things to my computer about a week or so ago, and it reset the date. I knew it had, so I changed the month, day, and time back, but apparently forgot to do the year! My computer thought it was 2003, so none of the security certificate things for websites worked. What a dummy I am!

Matt and I rearranged the bedroom over the past few days, and it’s already feeling awesome in here. Lots of space and light and it just fits much much better! I’ve posted some photos on my flickr, but you can only see them if you’re set to a friend or family member. But it’s wonderful!

Back up and running!

Thankfully, it wasn’t -too- hard to get my computer back up and running. I would have been so lonely without it today!

On the down side:
- I had/have to reinstall everything.
- All of my Sims are gone, including my new Legacy family. I saved my downloads, though. I might want to start from scratch again, though. Who knows?

On the plus side:
- Computer is so much faster.
- No more icky leftover files from games I installed, deleted, installed, deleted… You get the picture.
- The Movies now works! Seriously. And no upgrading to WMP 10 or 11 now, either. I’m sticking at 9, mmk?
- I got to delete all the files in my games and program files folders. Do you have any idea how good that felt? Amazing. :D

So, in the end, it turned out in my favour. Now I need to install Photoshop, though. It’ll drive me nuts to not have it!

I’m splurging a tiny bit tonight because I’m not feeling too fantastic. I’m having Subway. However, I counted up all the calories, logged everything, and picked the perfect sub with the perfect condiments to match my diet plan. I even have calories left over for snacking during my raid tonight. Tonight is a one-night Karazhan. I hope we make it all the way through! There’s a few things I still need to get for Kim.

- Spectral Band of Innervation off of Attumen.
- Bands of Nefarious Deeds off of the Maiden.
- Tirisfal Wand of Ascendancy off of Shade.
- Uni-Mind Headdress off of Netherspite.
- Trial-Fire Trousers off of Opera. (It’s on the shared loot table between all three events.)

Of course, I want my Tier 4 pieces off of Curator and Prince, but they’re not the most important to me right now, honestly. And the Uni-Mind Headdress is a small downgrade from the head piece off of Gruul, but I don’t like spending DKP on Gruul stuff right now, so I can save it for Tier gear when we get Void Reaver down, and for other things when we get Magtheridon down.

Yay, nerdy babbling!

From Matty’s laptop!

I’m totally posting from Matt’s laptop right now. Why, you ask? Because my computer decided to hate me and stop working properly.

It’s been terribly slow for a while, but I just dealt with it because, well, what do you do? But today, trying to play The Movies, I couldn’t get it to work. It kept saying that I had the wrong version of Windows Media Player. Yet… I had the one higher than it required. I tried rolling it back to 9, no luck. Tried upgrading to 11, worked once, but the game didn’t work. Then I tried rolling back to 10 to roll back to 9, said that 10 wasn’t installed properly and kept trying to get me to upgrade to 11, but it wouldn’t let me. To say the least, it was frustrated. By the end of it all, I was in tears on the phone with Matt, and we decided to just reformat it and reinstall Windows.

So I spent a good part of the night backing up files for all my 80+ programs (haha, wonder why my computer was slow?) and downloading install files so that I could install it all quickly without spending too much time on it.

Oh, look, my install is done! Time to go play with it!

Mmm, Wendy’s.

I’m eating a fabulous Wendy’s taco salad. It’s the best thing on their menu, seriously. They forgot the yummy crispy crunchy strip things, though, so it’s not as good today. They also forgot my second sour cream. We paid fifty cents for that, darn it. They usually mess up our food, though. Almost every single time.

Matt and I brought some clothes over to the apartment today. It was so nice hanging clothes up in a closet!

Anyway, I’m gonna get back to downloading Sims 2 custom content and eating. I think Matt managed to fix my computer so that it doesn’t crash all the time now! Yay, Matt! I love him.

Derrrr…

It’s 2:38 in the morning.

I’m watching old Boy Meets World episodes. I can not sleep.

I’m copying my Sex and the City episodes over to my laptop because apparently watching them over the network doesn’t work. Fabulous, right?

Ugh. I want to sleep. I can not get comfy.
