Care for a bit of randomness?Posted on May 13th, 2007 @ 5:46 pm
I’m feeling random today. I’ve just done so much today that has nothing to do with anything else I’ve done today. It’s fun that way, I guess.
I played the Sims 2 for a while. I’ve got Nightlife installed again. It’s still crashed a few times, but nowhere near as much as it was crashing before. I’ve got my new Legacy family started, as well as a different challenge, just for fun. I gave up when it crashed, though.
After that, I played Evil Genius for a tiny while. I’m at a slow part in the game right now so my patience with it is pretty thin.
I logged into Eve long enough to change my skill, but didn’t feel like doing anything else.
Then, I played Guild Wars for a few minutes. I leveled up and then decided I was tired of playing that already. What can I say, I’m impatient today.
I watched Life After Tomorrow, a documentary that’s On Demand right now. It’s about women who played in “Annie” when they were younger. It was very interesting to watch. I liked it, actually! Sarah Jessica Parker was in it.
Speaking of Sarah Jessica Parker, I’ve seen a lot of threads with people talking about their favourite outfit of Carrie’s, but nobody ever mentions mine, which I find absolutely baffling! So I thought I’d throw it out here for people to see. It’s from Season 4, Episode 12: Just Say Yes.

IMDB UpdatePosted on May 1st, 2007 @ 7:44 am
I sent in an update to IMDB today, one of the things on my 101 things list.
While watching last weeks’ Grey’s episode, Desire, I recognized the woman who played the board chairman’s wife, Nancy. It took a while, but I figured out who she was. She’s Mary-Margaret Humes, the woman who played Dawson’s mom on Dawson’s Creek.
It wasn’t credited, so I sent it in!

I’m on a roll!Posted on April 30th, 2007 @ 4:26 am
Today Matt and I put all of our CDs into new cases. Our cabinet is nice and organized now! So that’s one more thing off of my 101 things list. Two things in two days? I hope I can complete the rest of the list just as easily.
Today also marks day #29 of blogging every day for 90 days, another item on the list. I figured I was blogging every day for the past 28 days, so they should count!
Here is my progress so far:
So, today, I spent the day with Matt. He goes back to working tomorrow, so it was nice to spend the whole day with him. I played a bit of my Legacy family while he played some games on his computer, but we spent most of the day together. I’m getting sick again, so we took a nap and I whined a bit, but he was nothing if not attentive and sweet. I asked him if he’d make me a cup of tea, because he makes it different than I do, and he leaned down and kissed me and brought one down. How on Earth did I get so lucky? Seriously.
As for my Legacy family, Carrie (my heir from generation 3) has graduated college (4.0 average!) and moved back home to the Legacy family. All of her older brothers and sisters and one of her younger brothers has moved out, as well as all of her aunts and uncles. She and her husband are living with her grandparents, her parents, two of her brothers and her husband. They have a puppy, also. They had an older one, named “Pup,” but he passed on before she went to college. The house is a bit crowded but it’s fun to play anyway!
Right now I’m watching Four Brothers. This movie is by far one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. Every time I watch it it keeps me on the edge of my seat, even though I know what’s going to happen. Another one of my favourite movies is Armageddon, which was on tonight, but at the same time, Signs happened to be on. Matt convinced me to watch that with him, and I must say I’m glad I did; it was a great movie! A bit creepy and I’m easily scared, so that was a bad combination, but if I was less of a fraidy-cat, it would have been an awesome movie.
Okay, I’ve been talking about movies for a whole paragraph, so you know what’s next. A connection. Nope, I just can’t help myself when I watch movies. Ever. So, here goes. The little girl in Signs, Bo, is played by Abigail Breslin (the sister of Spencer Breslin, in case you didn’t know), who looked incredibly familiar to me. Turns out, I’ve seen her much more recently than 2002. She was in Raising Helen, Princess Diaries 2 and The Santa Clause 3, all with her brother. That’s not how I know her, though. For those of you Grey’s fans out there, she was Megan Clover, the little girl who couldn’t feel pain, but believed she was a superhero, from “Sometimes a Fantasy”.
Okay, I’m officially a nerd. So sue me.

I’m so easily amused that it amuses me!Posted on April 17th, 2007 @ 4:30 am
Like I said in my last entry, I’ve been watching Sex and the City all day. I love this show! Anyway, I find it terribly amusing that in Season 5, Episode 1 (Anchors Away), you can see Chandra Wilson from Grey’s Anatomy as a police officer.
And just to enforce why I love these two shows oh so much, here is one quote from each of them. Just because I can.
Sex and the City
Carrie: “Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”
Grey’s Anatomy
Callie: Uh, you know those cartoons where there’s a bear or whatever and it’s starving? And it looks at a table and the table turns into this delicious cooked turkey with, like, lines of deliciousness coming off it…
Addison: I was not looking at him like that, because he is the help, and I am not going to be sleeping with the help.
Callie: I married the help.
Addison: What?
Callie: We went to Vegas. My idea. I embrace the trashy.
Addison: That’s — not that I’m not happy for you. But why - married - so fast?
Callie: You know those cartoons where there’s a bear, and it’s starving, and it looks at a cute intern…
Addison: Well, congratulations.
Callie: Thank you.

Once a fan, always a fan.Posted on April 12th, 2007 @ 6:44 pm
The things I’m noticing lately are rather funny. I have a very distinct impression of whether I like a person (or song, TV show, movie) or not, and it seems to stick with me, even if I don’t know it’s the same person.
Take Katherine Heigl for example. We all know her as Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy. Obviously she’s been in many, many more things, but that’s her big thing right now.
Well, in one of my IMDB surfing-sessions today, I was looking for a particular movie that I brought up in a conversation with Stacy. The movie, in case you care, was Pixel Perfect. Upon finding this movie, I felt a wave of nostalgia wash over me. I enjoyed the Disney Channel Original Movies very much. Still do, but I’m a nerd, and that’s a different story entirely. I decided to look up some other movies on the list at Answers.com. Somehow I come across Wish Upon a Star and remember how much I loved that movie. Then I look at the cast and who else is one of the lead actresses, but Katherine Heigl. I was surprised to see that even after 11 years, I still love her as an actress!
Another lovely discovery I made today was this:
Lately I’ve been listening to a collection I have of the songs in the Grey’s Anatomy episodes. I’ve become quite a fan of Tegan and Sara, especially their song “Where Does the Good Go?”. You can hear that song in this video on YouTube. I look at some more YouTube videos of them, and discover that they also sang Walking With a Ghost, which was a song that played every day while I worked at Forever 21. I loved that song! Go figure, huh?
