Yawn!Posted on June 17th, 2008 @ 8:50 am
I slept very weird last night - heavy dreaming and I woke up actually hurting. But that might be due in part to my workout yesterday - I did all upper body because my foot is still messed up! So anyway, that makes my chest and shoulders and upper back and arms very sore today. It’s a good sore, though, because it means I’m doing the workout that I need to be doing.
I’m trying to eat healthier, but TRYING is the key word there. How do people lose weight all the time? I’ve been at a plateau for what, a year now? Ugh. Disgusting. Thankfully, though, I can look at myself in a mirror now and see that I have more of a shape, and feel better about myself. Who can hate curves? I sure can’t!
What I can hate, however, is my eyes constantly burning. I need to go in soon for an eye exam and new contacts because my eyes just can’t handle not having them! Plus, a fresh prescription certainly couldn’t hurt, because seeing is definitely underrated. Well, seeing clearly, that is.
For the past week or so, Mew Mew’s been back to the way she was when we first got her. I was really getting tired of her trying to leave the bedroom constantly, only to want to be let back in three minutes later. It’s also nice not having anyone here to feed her treats and make her WANT to be away from me. Just the other night she wandered into the bedroom, meowing, and I turned around to give her the attention I usually give her when she comes in meowing, and I see that she’s brought me a present - her grey stuffed mouse. She’s wandering into my bedroom with a mouse, and obviously brought it for me, since she dropped it at my feet and wouldn’t stop meowing until I picked it up! She’s sweeter than she seems sometimes, that’s for sure.
The past two days were filled with lots of cleaning - we pretty much cleaned the apartment from top to bottom! I have to finish up a bit of dishes that are in the sink from yesterday, but otherwise… clean! I even swept and mopped the bathroom and vacuumed the hall and bedroom. Life always feels better in a clean home, doesn’t it?
And with that, I think I’m going to do the dishes and leave them out to dry, and then play some EQ2. I’m really enjoying my free play time, and why wouldn’t I? It’s free time with a game that I love but can’t play because I love WoW more. Now if only they’d throw player housing into WoW, I’d be set!

Ho hum.Posted on June 3rd, 2008 @ 2:01 am
Less bored today, but only slightly. After Matt got off work (I’m already loving this new regular schedule thing), we spent a couple hours here and then went to Lawtons and Walmart. I had to mail off a few things and Matt needed some new pants for work and we needed a few little things between us. It was nice knowing that we had so much time after he got off work - I seem to lose track of time so quickly now that I’m not working. It’s frustrating. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have a day drag on and on. Isn’t that weird? It’s some sort of housewife time warp thing.
I reinstalled GuildWars tonight. No clue why. Just felt like it, I guess. I still haven’t gotten the hang of the damn game. The camera drives me insane, though, I know that much. It’s too “swingy” - it keeps going when you rotate and it… I don’t know. It’s hard to explain. Anyone have any tips for me though? I’d sure like some!
Tomorrow is my cleaning day. I still haven’t put away my laundry from yesterday, and I have a bunch more things to do. Nothing too serious, but enough to keep me busy until Hyjal tomorrow night.
- Laundry away
- Bed made
- Clean my desk
- Clean Matt’s desk
- Take out bedroom trash
- Take any dishes out of the bedroom
- Clean up closet - it’s a disaster from Matt looking for his racing wheel
- Clean up the floor, put away all the junk on there
- Vacuum
Since I’ve been at this point in the blog writing process (seriously, this very sentence) for over an hour now, I’m going to leave you with this, showing how I celebrated Matt starting his new job today. Congratulations honey, I love you!

What a night!Posted on May 24th, 2008 @ 9:24 pm
I was so excited for dinner tonight. I cooked spaghetti noodles and had some more of my mother’s wonderful spaghetti sauce ready and heated up. I put it in the bowl, top it with some parmesan cheese, and start walking back to my bedroom, as I was supposed to go to ZA tonight and had to be at my computer. I timed it perfectly. Except…
As I was about to walk into my door, I burned my finger on the bottom of the bowl. Instant reaction? “It’s hot! Let go!” Before I could tell my brain to shut up and hold on to it, the bowl had flown out of my hands and landed on the floor… face down. Spaghetti sauce, all over our light grey carpet.
Thank goodness that when I logged in to World of Warcraft I found out that half the raid (okay, three people) had decided not to come that night, because I spent the next two hours scrubbing the carpet. Thank goodness for Shout Ultra Gel because otherwise I’d probably be scrubbing it out with my tears around now. I’d tried everything before that worked. Club soda. Cold water. Shout vacuum stuff. A tiny bit of Peroxide. I read online and tried to do every single thing I could find, and only as a last resort did I grab the Ultra Gel, and it worked wonders. It’s almost completely gone now, and tomorrow once the carpet dries from my torture and my fingers return to their non-raw state (not chemical burns, just really really dry from the cleaning products and soap), I’ll be using the vacuum stuff again to get the last bit of stain off of the carpet.
Needless to say, I didn’t have any spaghetti. There’s some left, but am I really to trust myself with it? There’s only so much carpet in the apartment to ruin, what’s next, my clothes?

Busy, busy, busy!Posted on May 7th, 2008 @ 8:42 pm
Lots going on lately for me. Trying to keep everything organized and keep my head above water, and it’s working fairly well!
Raiding went incredibly well last night - almost surprisingly so. I’m glad we’re finally in the market for upgrades that I can actually use, as shallow and selfish as that sounds. Last night in Hyjal I got Leggings of Channeled Elements and Hatefury Mantle. Now I’m just waiting for WowJutsu to update - I want to see where our latest kills put us as far as progression!
In other, non-WoW news, my grandparents will be here in just a few days! I’m so excited about this. They’ll arrive sometime Friday and probably be leaving Monday. This means I get to show them my home! In the meantime, while they’re traveling (they left this morning) I have some cleaning to do. Gotta do laundry, vacuum… not a whole lot, really. But still, I want the place to be nice and clean when they get here. I have to figure out what kinds of food I’ll cook for them, too!
Anyway, that’s my life in a nutshell these days. Nothing too exciting, but everything exciting, all in one!

Midnight.Posted on April 13th, 2008 @ 2:00 pm
Midnight is overflowing with spambots these days and I’ve got hacks to keep them out and it’s STILL not working. I don’t want to close registration because there are very few people there as it is (all two of us…) and so I don’t want the board to be private and closed off, but there’s not much else I can do short of going there and deleting them daily. How annoying! I might just do away with it altogether. It’s a disappointment but if people can’t be bothered to go there and post and help me keep it alive, why should I bother trying? It’s a waste!
Last night my 10-man team in my guild cleared ZA for the first time. After way too long of wiping on Hex Lord, we got him down. Next week we go for the third timed chest. I don’t doubt we can do it, we have a really good team!
There’s a lot of debate as to what we should do now in our guild. As a guild, we are at 5/6 SSC, 1/4 TK (We didn’t bother spending much time in here), 1/5 MH and just shy of killing the first boss in BT. Some of us want to go finish our BT and MH attunements (even if they’re not needed) for the rings as well as other things (like I still have pants from Solarian that I need very badly, and boots from Hydross) but at the same time, the other opinion is “Why wipe on T5 stuff when we can wipe on T6 stuff and still kill things?” It’s a compelling argument.
Kimberia’s getting a ton of upgrades lately. I have no idea how it happened because the last upgrade I got was my angel wings from VR, but within the last week I’ve gotten a new ring (from the badge vendor), a new cloak (from Hyjal trash) and a new hood (from Hex Lord). I’m very excited about this! I’m still not sure how well I buy into the new haste = awesome for spriests thing but I might mess with it once I hit 1400 damage, which is just around the corner.
I still have quite a bit of cleaning to do here in the bedroom. It’s down to one basket of “junk” to put away and one basket of laundry to put away. Then I have to clean off our desks (Matt likes to use his as a catch-all for everything he ever brings in the bedroom!), dust (Between the two computers, the construction across the street, the cat, the bird, and everything else going on, we have the worst dust problem ever!) and then vacuum. I also have a bunch of laundry to do. Probably three or four loads, which isn’t a ton, but is a tiny bit of a pain when you consider the fact that it’s in the basement and I’m on the 6th floor. Oh, well.
I didn’t go to the gym last week at all, which I think I needed to do to get my mindset right. I’m ready to push again and am shooting for five days this week. I just hope the weather’s nice enough to walk there! I know I’ll be a tiny bit sore after the first day, but I intend to do weights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and maybe go to a class or two, and then cardio on Tuesday and Thursday and maybe a class on those days, too. I don’t have much else to do with my time most days, so I might as well push toward being healthier! I am feeling good lately, though. Happy, content, healthy. Well, mostly healthy.
Yesterday I spent most of the day in bed, cold, headache-y and queasy. Not sure what that was all about, but I’m feeling much better today, so I’m glad it went away!
