Just another dayPosted on December 7th, 2007 @ 11:59 am
I’m in an organize-y mood today. I probably won’t get a lot done, but my computer will be organized. Plus, I want to sort through all of the pictures on my memory card and clear my camera. I’m so glad that we got such a big memory card! I was getting tired of having 13 pictures to take. It’s so much easier when you can take a bunch and then decide later what to keep and what to get rid of. I should start taking photos again but I can never seem to find anything to take photos of. I should just start taking some of everything, who knows, I might find something good!
I’ve got a pretty icky cough. Despite this, I feel fine. I was crazy bloated the other day after going out drinking and dancing, but I have eaten pretty well and drank plenty of water in the days since then and am now down to my pre-party weight. Go me! I’m still at a bit of a standstill but right now I”m not focusing too much on the scale. I’m doing weight training more than cardio right now at the gym so I’ll see the scale go up, but I might be losing fat instead, so I’m not too concerned.
Matt’s on vacation still, and I’m loving having the time with him. It’s nice having him here. I’m hoping before he goes back to work that we can go out and have a nice dinner or something. We have to go out anyway to get my fingerprints done so I can send them away.
What I really need to do right now is laundry. The problem with doing laundry isn’t so much the laundry itself. It’s the having to time it perfectly and go downstairs with a huge load of laundry, and then get down there to switch it as soon as its done so nobody tosses it aside, and then hoping the dryer actually dries it instead of only half-drying it. If it does that, then I either have damp clothes or I have to spend more money to get it to dry, which just sucks. I definitely miss having a washer and dryer in the house. I wouldn’t even mind if it was on the same FLOOR somewhere!

I’ve been a bit distant, yet again…Posted on November 22nd, 2007 @ 10:16 pm
I can’t completely shake my funk lately. I’ve been a bit moody and lazy lately, with not much to blog about. I live a pretty boring life!
Matt and I went out to Arby’s today. We had no idea there was one here until the other day, so we decided to go today. It was good, but I’m feeling super guilty about all the calories I probably put into my body. We walked around Walmart and the new Best Buy for a while, and I haven’t eaten much else, so I’m trying to get the guilt out of my mind. It’s not the worst thing I could do!
I’m working on my 101 things list right now. Can you believe I’m more than half done? Craziness, if you ask me. There’s a lot to do still, and not everything on there is something I can expect to achieve, but I’m still trying! Right now I’m watching Pulp Fiction in an attempt to get back on track for my Films to See list.
I’m also (still!) working on organizing my music folder. So many things in so many different formats in random folders… It’s utter chaos in there! It might take me a while to do it but it’ll be refreshing after I’m done, that’s for sure.
That’s about it for now. I’m going to force myself to go to the gym tomorrow and possibly Saturday, too. Definitely need to kick my butt in gear again - I’m slacking and it’s so obvious and so bad.

30 days to organization!Posted on November 4th, 2007 @ 3:57 pm
Today, I signed up for the Self One Month Makeover. It’s 30 days to get organized. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always looking for a new “trick” for organizing my life. The bad part is that all of these “tricks” rarely work well together, and that results in frustration and even more chaos than when I started organizing!
That’s actually one of my biggest downfalls when it comes to organizing and cleaning. People probably don’t even realize that I’m SO picky about how clean things are, because they’re always a mess! The problem is, I get in a mood where I want to clean, clean, clean, but it’s so overwhelming that I don’t even know where to start. Eventually I stress myself out and sit down, amongst the mess, and give up. I know, quitters never win, but tell that to my bedroom!
I think this 30-day plan will help me! Like today. All I had to do was make my bed. That’s it! Make my bed. And I’m done. And you know what? With the bed made, my room really does look better.

I’m pretty tired today.Posted on August 16th, 2007 @ 12:20 pm
I was up all night. I intended to go to bed, I really did. But then I got involved in organizing my pictures (over 4,000 files at its worst!) and wanted to get a significant chunk of that done. Finally, I decided that I had done enough, and that I was exhausted and wanted to go to bed.
I went to bed and put Employee of the Month on TV, because On-Demand rocks, and I usually fall right to sleep when watching a movie. Not this time, though. I just could not fall asleep! I made it through that movie and put on Running with Scissors but I couldn’t concentrate on it. My ribs started hurting from a very irritating sneeze that wouldn’t come out, and so I got up and stretched my chest out, and decided to go on the computer. I made myself breakfast (rice and milk with tea to drink) and finished up my pictures. I restarted my computer to clear out some weird stuck files, and decided to take a shower, then a relaxing bath.
After this, I managed to feel tired enough to go to sleep! I told Matt that it was only to be a nap, nothing more, and that if he got a call, he needed to wake me up before he left and make sure I got out of bed, and at least on the computer. This way I wouldn’t sleep all day and really screw up my sleeping schedule.
And, here I am! Bright eyed, and bushy-tai… whatever. A bit tired, but not so bad! I need to put my laundry away and put the dishes from last night away. I started organizing my jewelry in a new way, so I need to work on that. I’ve also started fixing some bracelets (they were beaded on wire, but the wire kept cutting the outside of my wrists because it wasn’t finished well, so I’m moving each one to stretchy jewelry string) which I need to finish up.
I’ve decided that I’m going to (eventually) get some fabric and get Matt’s mom’s sewing machine down and try my hand at making this shopping bag for grocery shopping. It’s convenient, and will be great for at least smaller trips. Mew Mew loves plastic bags, but I don’t love waking up to the rustling of them every morning!
