A new month already?
Posted on October 1st, 2007 @ 1:23 pm

Time is just flying by this year. Seriously. I want to freeze frame a week and hold on to it for about a month. I’m really dreading winter this year. I love autumn, but winter makes me sad and anxious and it’s already setting in! Not to mention with winter comes Christmas, and with Christmas comes all of my family members coming BACK out of the woodwork and asking me when I’m coming back, when I’m visiting, if I’m moving back… and telling me that I should be with family for the holidays, blah blah blah.

Anyway, enough thinking about that. I have two months! Right now, I need a pumpkin spice candle and an apple candle. Favourite smells, ever. They’re fantastic and comforting and warm… sigh. I miss Target. I wish they’d make one here. I could get the candles from there - they were the best!

So, with a new month, as usual, I’ve put up a new theme. This crosses yet another thing off of my 101 things list. Third customized Wordpress theme, yay! Eventually I’ll clean up my themes and put in a theme switcher. The only problem with that is that I need to figure out how to make the example bullets on my 101 things page change with the theme. Any ideas?

I need to make a small announcement: I hit my goal weight for the month! This means I get a haircut, eventually, when I feel like going out. I can’t seem to find a picture of what I want, but I want bangs like I have now, but I want them to actually go where they’re supposed to go! And I think I want some long layers to make my hair look healthier. Right now it’s just kinda blah, and I throw it up in a ponytail because I get bored. I need new shampoo, too. None of the stuff I have is working right anymore. My hair does that - it becomes “immune” (for lack of a better word) to a certain kind of shampoo and doesn’t get as clean anymore. It’s frustrating! Same with deodorant, but that’s even more annoying. So, if anyone can find a hairstyle like what I mentioned, send me a picture of it!

Today I get to redo my World of Warcraft interface and then do some farming. I didn’t sign up for tonight’s raid, because I’m feeling a bit burnt out. Sad, but true. Some of the things I’ve been doing are fun, and some just plain drive me bonkers. I can’t help it! I think it’s a bunch of new people we keep pulling into our raids - we’re learning to work together again and figure things out, all the while we’re doing stuff that we had on farm status, but now we’re struggling because the same cooperation isn’t there. It’s a delicate balance, really. Anyway, about my interface. I installed something before my raid last night, and boy did that fail. Miserably. It was awful. I couldn’t move my buttons around, I had to reload my UI any time I had to put a new spell on my bars, and I had targeting problems. Not the easiest way to raid! However, some good news about my raid last night (Karazhan) is that I finally got my bracers from the Maiden - Bands of Nefarious Deeds. There is just a few things I’m sticking it out for in there still:

- Tirisfal Wand of Ascendancy from Shade (Though I may end up just getting the Arena Wand before I ever see the Shade wand.)
- Helm of the Fallen Defender for my Soul-Collar of the Incarnate off of the Prince. I hate this fight. More than you’d believe. But I need a new head piece. Who knows, maybe I’ll get the next Cowl of the Grand Engineer off of Void Reaver!
- Gloves of the Fallen Defender off of Curator for my Gloves of the Incarnate. Not so much because it’s an upgrade, but because I want to finish the set!
- Trial-Fire Trousers from the Opera Event.
- Ring of Recurrence from the Chess Event.

I definitely wouldn’t mind getting the enchanting formulas, either: Mongoose, Soulfrost, Sunfire,

I’m not procrastinating, honest!

My internet is going terribly slow, which is annoying. I’ll probably restart my router soon. I have to clean, but my leg is still hurting me pretty bad, so I need to take it easy. I got a few things done on my list from yesterday though.

- Plug printer in, and plug in to router.
- Stack boxes in storage room (so that they don’t fall over this time) and move some small boxes from the closet in.
- Clean up shelf with alarm clock.
- Do rest of dishes; put away.
- Wash floors in kitchen and bathroom.
- Wash down counters (again).
- Do laundry.
- Organize some kitchen cabinets.
- Clean under desk.
- Vacuum living room.
- Vacuum hallway and bedroom.
- Dust.
- Wash glass: mirrors, windows.
- Organize fridge. Maybe. It’s not too bad.

Tonight’s going to be a fun night. Since we took down Void Reaver so easily last week, we’ll be trying Al’ar tonight!

Loot I want:
Band of Al’ar (To replace Ryngo’s Band of Ingenuity)

We went to Karazhan last night and finished the upper half of it. Sadly, I didn’t get my wand yet again. I am in desperate need of an upgrade! I’m using a level 65 green with oodles of +shadow damage, but no real stats! Come on already! I guess I’ll just keep going and hope it drops. What’s funny is that I haven’t gotten a single thing off of my list. However, I did get Staff of Infinite Mysteries last night off of the Curator. This means, from there, I still need…

- Spectral Band of Innervation off of Attumen.
- Bands of Nefarious Deeds off of the Maiden.
- Tirisfal Wand of Ascendancy off of Shade.
- Uni-Mind Headdress off of Netherspite.
- Trial-Fire Trousers off of Opera. (It’s on the shared loot table between all three events.)

Back up and running!
Posted on September 7th, 2007 @ 7:10 pm

Thankfully, it wasn’t -too- hard to get my computer back up and running. I would have been so lonely without it today!

On the down side:
- I had/have to reinstall everything.
- All of my Sims are gone, including my new Legacy family. I saved my downloads, though. I might want to start from scratch again, though. Who knows?

On the plus side:
- Computer is so much faster.
- No more icky leftover files from games I installed, deleted, installed, deleted… You get the picture.
- The Movies now works! Seriously. And no upgrading to WMP 10 or 11 now, either. I’m sticking at 9, mmk?
- I got to delete all the files in my games and program files folders. Do you have any idea how good that felt? Amazing. :D

So, in the end, it turned out in my favour. Now I need to install Photoshop, though. It’ll drive me nuts to not have it!

I’m splurging a tiny bit tonight because I’m not feeling too fantastic. I’m having Subway. However, I counted up all the calories, logged everything, and picked the perfect sub with the perfect condiments to match my diet plan. I even have calories left over for snacking during my raid tonight. Tonight is a one-night Karazhan. I hope we make it all the way through! There’s a few things I still need to get for Kim.

Of course, I want my Tier 4 pieces off of Curator and Prince, but they’re not the most important to me right now, honestly. And the Uni-Mind Headdress is a small downgrade from the head piece off of Gruul, but I don’t like spending DKP on Gruul stuff right now, so I can save it for Tier gear when we get Void Reaver down, and for other things when we get Magtheridon down.

Yay, nerdy babbling!

Getting in the habit!
Posted on September 6th, 2007 @ 2:16 pm

I’m getting in the habit of eating healthy and exercising now. I’m kinda on a roll, to be honest. I have done some form of exercise (either a walk or Turbo Jam) every day since last Sunday. I’ve done strength training for the past three days. I’ve stayed within my food intake limits every single day this week. I’ve drank upwards of 8 glasses - usually around ten! - every day. And today, I started a multivitamin.

I’m seeing progress, too. I’ve lost yet another pound, which puts me down 4 pounds from my starting weight. Slow progress is better than no progress, in my opinion.

So, since all my poor friends have heard about for the past few days is my diet/exercise/whatever, time to talk about other things!

Last night, my raiding team took on Void Reaver for the first time. What a fun fight! I was very scared, reading the strategy, when I saw this:

Threat is an issue for high-threat generating classes, particularly shadow priests, so be careful: your threat will also be increased by healing your group members that get hit by Arcane Orbs.

However, I was able to maintain my threat and survive! Well, until the tank died. Y’know. But things happen. We got him to, like, 36% or something on our second try. Sadly, the amount of trash there is and the difficult pulls only gave us two tries on Void Reaver. By the time the second time came around, we had respawns all through the instance and couldn’t go any further. Regardless, it was fantastic fun and I was so excited to see something different for a change!

Kim, my shadow priest, is doing rather well in the gear department. She needs a few more things from Karazhan and one item from Heroic badges, but she’s starting to look pretty good!

Anyway, I think I’m going to play The Movies. Haven’t played it in a while, and decided it sounded like fun!

Last night was a good night!
Posted on July 6th, 2007 @ 6:31 am

We finished our two-day clear of Karazhan last night. We were supposed to do it on Wednesday, but being a holiday, not everyone could make it, so it was postponed.

Once we finished Nightbane and didn’t see any priestly loots, I figured I’d be at a loss for getting gear this time around. It wasn’t a big deal, but I’m always up for an upgrade if I can find one!

We went back inside to take on the “easy” bosses - Attumen and The Maiden.

After we killed the Maiden, I had an awesome little message pop up at the bottom of my screen:

You are now exalted with the Violet Eye.

Then, they loot her. What’s this? A healing mace? Nobody wants it? Well, y’know, being a priest and all… I could use it if it’s just getting disenchanted anyway. So, I’m now the proud owner of:

  • Shard of the Virtuous
  • Binds when picked up
  • Unique
  • Mace
  • Main Hand
  • Speed 1.90
  • 28 - 130 Damage
  • (41.3 damage per second)
  • +22 Stamina
    +20 Intellect
  • Durability 105 / 105
  • Requires Level 70
  • Equip: Increases healing done by spells and effects by up to 348.
Equip: Restores 6 mana per 5 sec.

But wait, there’s more!
After the raid, we make our way to the front, because our resident shadow priest has hit exalted and can get her final ring! So, on top of the gorgeousness that is my new healing mace, I also now have:

  • Violet Signet of the Archmage
  • Binds when picked up
  • Unique
  • Finger
  • +24 Stamina
    +23 Intellect
  • Equip: Improves spell critical strike rating by 17.
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 29.

So, to say the least, I’m getting better and better gear every time I go in there now. In case you care to see Kim decked out in her shadow gear, here’s the link to her armory profile!
