Random thoughts:
- I’m craving Taco Bell like you wouldn’t believe.
- I’m almost 74 in WoW.
- Certain zones and quests are overpopulated and this is driving me bananas.
- Matt and I are going to the Parade of Lights tomorrow. We haven’t been in a few years. I’m hoping it doesn’t rain so he will take me.
- Roasted chicken pizza is delicious. Yum yum.
Yeah, that’s about it. I’m sleepy.

So much to do…Posted on October 8th, 2008 @ 11:15 am
I’m running around lately like a headless chicken. Not an attractive sight - especially at the end of the day when I’m exhausted and forget everything I did in a day. Plus, the things that I -want- to do at home are things that I don’t get around to, and that’s never good. But it works out in the end.
Today’s tasks are:
- Work on one of my Christmas scarves. I have about 7 more to go so the quicker I finish them, the better.
- At least one load of laundry when Matt gets home. I need to wash his work pants, or else I’d just do it now.
- Upload photos of the new car, so that I can show it off!
- Finish up a post I’ve been working on that’s been sitting in drafts for about two months now. I seriously forgot it was there, how bad is that?
-
- Clean up the floor behind my desk and my desk itself. What a disaster this room is now that I’m not home all the time.
Doesn’t seem like a big list, I’m sure, but to me it’s pretty daunting. I hate doing laundry these days because it’s so far down, and cleaning the room is exhausting, and uploading photos means I have to sit here and CONCENTRATE and really, how can I do that these days?
As for why I’ve been a poor headless chicken the past few weeks? Here’s exactly what my day was yesterday:
- 8:30 - Showered, got dressed, and packed up my supplies for…
- 10:15 - Coordinator picked me for a volunteer fair at MSVU. This event wasn’t too bad - lots of talking (recruiting) and a slice of pizza, and oh yeah - translating a brochure from Spanish to English for a woman that was trying to help her son get ready for his First Communion. Random? Of course.
- 2:00 - Headed to the office at Dalhousie. Made a few phone calls to get ready for today’s learner heading downtown. Filed some paperwork.
- 3:45 - Headed to one of the sites for the reading clubs to drop off some books and information.
- 4:30 - First homework club. My learner didn’t get there until 6:30 but I got there early to help out a bit with organization.
- 8:00 - Got home. Done tutoring for the day. Grabbed a quick plate of supper and ate it as fast as I could.
- 8:30 - Logged into WoW to raid. Raided until 12:45 or something (might not have been that late, not sure) and then went to bed.
Is it any wonder I just want to sleep?

Weekend Wrap-UpPosted on September 21st, 2008 @ 11:32 am
Last week’s Weekend Wrap-Up was about webcomics. Did anyone else crack up after reading any of them? I know I did! This week, however, I have been insanely busy and still recovering from being sick, so I’m going to take the easy way out and give you a list of lists! Some of you may recall that I’ve done this once before, but you wouldn’t believe the number of lists I have bookmarked for this very purpose! So, on with the show!
- 5 Lessons on How to Treat Other People - I loved this. The stories are uplifting and honest and convey a sense of common decency that you don’t always see these days. Definitely a must-read!
- 5 Ways Europeans Live Better than Americans - This is something that has always fascinated me. I would love to spend more time in Europe (I spent a week in Spain in 2001 and have wanted to go back ever since) and learn their culture. Everything seems so much… better there, I guess. This article pinpoints a few good things about the lifestyle there!
- 5 Scientific Theories That Will Make Your Head Explode - You just have to read these. They’re explained in a way that most people, even if they’re not scientists, will understand what’s going on at some level. Read them. But wrap up your head first, just in case.
- 3 Good Reasons to Stop Thinking So Much and How to Do It - Good reasons for getting past what they call the “self-imposed roadblock” of thinking too much. It’s true - we think things through until we’re blue in the face! But how often do we actually do the important things we want to do, but have no reason not to? Of course, I’m not applying this to law-breaking activities. That’s just ridiculous!
- 10 Personalities of Facebook and MySpace - How many of these do you know? I’m pretty sure at one point I’ve known all of them.
- 10 Simple Ways to Achieve Balance in Your Life - This one sounds so simple. It’s probably an easier-said-than-done situation, but I can tell you it’s definitely worth a read. Implement just one of these things and you’re bound to feel more balanced already!
That wraps up this week’s Weekend Wrap-Up, providing you with lists. From the silly to the profound, there’s something for everybody! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up
Ho hum.Posted on June 3rd, 2008 @ 2:01 am
Less bored today, but only slightly. After Matt got off work (I’m already loving this new regular schedule thing), we spent a couple hours here and then went to Lawtons and Walmart. I had to mail off a few things and Matt needed some new pants for work and we needed a few little things between us. It was nice knowing that we had so much time after he got off work - I seem to lose track of time so quickly now that I’m not working. It’s frustrating. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have a day drag on and on. Isn’t that weird? It’s some sort of housewife time warp thing.
I reinstalled GuildWars tonight. No clue why. Just felt like it, I guess. I still haven’t gotten the hang of the damn game. The camera drives me insane, though, I know that much. It’s too “swingy” - it keeps going when you rotate and it… I don’t know. It’s hard to explain. Anyone have any tips for me though? I’d sure like some!
Tomorrow is my cleaning day. I still haven’t put away my laundry from yesterday, and I have a bunch more things to do. Nothing too serious, but enough to keep me busy until Hyjal tomorrow night.
- Laundry away
- Bed made
- Clean my desk
- Clean Matt’s desk
- Take out bedroom trash
- Take any dishes out of the bedroom
- Clean up closet - it’s a disaster from Matt looking for his racing wheel
- Clean up the floor, put away all the junk on there
- Vacuum
Since I’ve been at this point in the blog writing process (seriously, this very sentence) for over an hour now, I’m going to leave you with this, showing how I celebrated Matt starting his new job today. Congratulations honey, I love you!
