I’m so impatient.

I’m impatient… and bored. Just got finished watching Grey’s Anatomy with Matt. This week’s episode was, as always, awesome! I’m dying to see what happens next week!

I’m sitting here waiting for my Everquest II to update. It’s going so slooooooow. I haven’t played it in, what, a year? But Matt just got cards in the mail today giving us a month (well… almost a month. We have until the 4th of next month…) free! So why not play it, right? I’ve kinda missed it a tiny bit anyway. I liked a few things about it that aren’t quite the same in World of Warcraft. The tradeskills are really nifty, as are the collection things. I didn’t play the game long enough to totally understand it, but it still seemed fun.

Now, World of Warcraft, on the other hand, I understand! Reading the 2.3 PTR Patch Notes made me giggle and smile and yell out random phrases to Matt that he didn’t care to hear! I’m so excited about so many of these changes and can’t wait to see them on the main server. A few of these fantastic changes:

Zul’Aman open.
New 10-person raid instance. Need I say more?

Guild Banks Introduced.
So cool. People have been looking forward to this for ages!

Experience: The amount of experience needed to gain a level has been decreased between levels 20 and 60. In addition, the amount of experience granted by quests has been increased between levels 30 and 60.
For me, this is awesome. I have such a hard time leveling, especially at these levels!

A new flight path has been added to the Rebel Camp in northern Stranglethorn Vale.
This is fantastic. Being an alliance player, I always hated that zone, mostly because there are no convenient flight paths in the north. You either have to run up from Booty Bay (horrible for lower levels, because the things in the far south are such a high level) or run down from Duskwood, which is horrible, even with an epic mount!

Vendor Discounts: All vendors with an associate faction now give discounts at all levels above neutral.
Discounts are always cool. :)

Daily quests have been added targeting a random battleground for that day. Look for Alliance Brigadier Generals and Horde Warbringers near your faction’s battlemasters in all major capitals.
I love daily quests, and this would give me a chance to enjoy PvP even more than I do now! I like arenas a lot, but battlegrounds drive me bananas. This would make it much more enjoyable for me!

Players will now be able to cast spells for free in the Battleground before it begins.
Yay! I hate buffing my groups in battlegrounds just because it takes all my mana, then I have to waste a water or two, blah blah blah. This will be so much nicer!

Fear Ward is now available to all priests at level 20. Duration reduced to 3 minutes, cooldown increased to 3 minutes.
I know they cut the spell down quite a bit, and it’s not as great as it was when it was dwarf/draenei only, but I don’t care! I’m just excited to get it!

Two-Handed Axes and Two-Handed Maces are now trainable by all Shaman at the appropriate weapon masters. The Enhancement talent has been replaced by Shamanistic Focus. Shamanistic Focus (New Enhancement Talent): After landing a melee critical strike, you enter a Focused state. The Focused state reduces the mana cost of your next Shock spell by 60%.
Heck yes! Thaelani is enhancement right now, and probably will be until the mid/high 60s. I’m always frustrated with the sheer amount of water I have to buy because I run out of mana so quickly. Not to mention I duel-wield on her right now, and have no use for two-handed axes and maces, except for the fact that I used them before I got the duel-wielding talent!

Daily cooking quests are now available from The Rokk in Shattrath City! In addition to gold, you can receive random cooking reagents and new recipes as a reward for completing these quests.
Again, I love daily quests. And I love cooking! Even in WoW! Holy goodness. I can’t even put my excitement into words here.

Duration of wizard and mana oils created by enchanters has been increased.
As a shadow priest, I use a lot of wizard oil. I like the extra boost to my damage, which is also a boost to my mana regen that I provide my party. Having the duration increased makes it so I have to use less, meaning I have to spend less to make it! Win-win, there!

Players can now track fishing nodes. This ability is learned from a journal sometimes found in crates obtained through fishing.
Kim is 375 fishing, and has no gathering professions. I love cooking, which means fishing for the materials to make the food is important. Being able to track nodes for fishing will be so beneficial!

Cooldown removed from Noggenfogger Elixirs. The shrink effect will no longer stack with other shrink effects.
This is just plain cool. I like Noggenfogger and hate having to wait to use another one! :)

I’ve babbled enough for now. I was just so excited that I had to post some of those!

Coming soon, if anyone’s interested, is a list of my addons and what they do/where to get them. What do you think?

I’m slacking! (Take two, I guess.)
Posted on June 2nd, 2007 @ 10:15 am

Sigh, I only hope that this post will be nearly as good as it was the first time. Seriously, WTF, WordPress?

I’ve been slacking a bit on my 101 things list. I need some progress! So let’s see what is in progress that can be done fairly easily, shall we?

Sleep “normal” hours every day for a month.

I started this on 5/7/07, meaning, on 6/8/07, I can cross this off my list as complete. I’m shocked at myself, but maybe I’ve trained my body to work properly, hm?

Blog every day for 90 days.

I started this while Matt was away on April 2nd. This means that today marks 60 days of blogging daily. That leaves me with one month to go!

Finish my Legacy Challenge family: all ten generations.

Despite my computer giving me problem after problem after problem after problem trying to get this goal done, I think it’ll finally work. I’m only on generation two so far, but hey, it’s a start. I’ve started other families, too, but I’m leaving those as a surprise because they’re just nifty, but I want more work done on them, first. In the meantime, I’ve got my hot legacy family. By hot, I mean awesome genes. I need to get some default templates for skins and make my townies hot, too, though. I don’t want to risk losing the good genes somewhere down the line!

Anyway, back to the list.

Watch 100 of IMDB’s top 250 films.

Still quite a few to go, but I need to start watching films all the time. I’m home all the time, this shouldn’t be too hard, right? Right. Expect to see some progress on this one.

Get an alt character on World of Warcraft to level 70.

What can I say? Leveling just isn’t my thing.

Try three new restaurants.

I’m one restaurant short. ONE. This should be simple.

Finish this list.

I need to think of 15 more things, I believe. Any suggestions?

I wonder…

Is it my preconceived opinion about PUGs that makes them such a mess, or are my opinions based on the fact that they’re usually such a mess? What came first: the chicken, or the bad PUG?

I had a big “I told you so” moment today, but couldn’t even enjoy that as much as I’d want, because instead of “I told you so,” I was stuck saying “I told her so,” which isn’t nearly as exciting. I’m now dreading the move, simply for the fact that we’re paying monthly for a room that will hold not just us and our beds and our computers, but every box of everything that we own.

I’m just moody today. I was moody yesterday, too. I cried because I wanted Smirnoff. I don’t know what my deal is. I just feel like screaming and yelling and crying and punching things. Or else, pulling the covers over my head and sleeping for a year.

Not to sound all whiny and bitchy, but if I do, then meh. It’s my blog, right? I just feel very small and useless right now. Not as a World of Warcraft player, but as a person in general. I don’t know what it is. I think it’s my basement-dwelling. I’m falling back into a funk again and I want to shake it. Again. I can’t let myself fall again, you know?

Meh.

I’m on a roll!
Posted on April 30th, 2007 @ 4:26 am

Today Matt and I put all of our CDs into new cases. Our cabinet is nice and organized now! So that’s one more thing off of my 101 things list. Two things in two days? I hope I can complete the rest of the list just as easily.

Today also marks day #29 of blogging every day for 90 days, another item on the list. I figured I was blogging every day for the past 28 days, so they should count!

Here is my progress so far:

So, today, I spent the day with Matt. He goes back to working tomorrow, so it was nice to spend the whole day with him. I played a bit of my Legacy family while he played some games on his computer, but we spent most of the day together. I’m getting sick again, so we took a nap and I whined a bit, but he was nothing if not attentive and sweet. I asked him if he’d make me a cup of tea, because he makes it different than I do, and he leaned down and kissed me and brought one down. How on Earth did I get so lucky? Seriously.

As for my Legacy family, Carrie (my heir from generation 3) has graduated college (4.0 average!) and moved back home to the Legacy family. All of her older brothers and sisters and one of her younger brothers has moved out, as well as all of her aunts and uncles. She and her husband are living with her grandparents, her parents, two of her brothers and her husband. They have a puppy, also. They had an older one, named “Pup,” but he passed on before she went to college. The house is a bit crowded but it’s fun to play anyway!

Right now I’m watching Four Brothers. This movie is by far one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. Every time I watch it it keeps me on the edge of my seat, even though I know what’s going to happen. Another one of my favourite movies is Armageddon, which was on tonight, but at the same time, Signs happened to be on. Matt convinced me to watch that with him, and I must say I’m glad I did; it was a great movie! A bit creepy and I’m easily scared, so that was a bad combination, but if I was less of a fraidy-cat, it would have been an awesome movie.

Okay, I’ve been talking about movies for a whole paragraph, so you know what’s next. A connection. Nope, I just can’t help myself when I watch movies. Ever. So, here goes. The little girl in Signs, Bo, is played by Abigail Breslin (the sister of Spencer Breslin, in case you didn’t know), who looked incredibly familiar to me. Turns out, I’ve seen her much more recently than 2002. She was in Raising Helen, Princess Diaries 2 and The Santa Clause 3, all with her brother. That’s not how I know her, though. For those of you Grey’s fans out there, she was Megan Clover, the little girl who couldn’t feel pain, but believed she was a superhero, from “Sometimes a Fantasy”.

Okay, I’m officially a nerd. So sue me.

Day 23.
Posted on April 23rd, 2007 @ 11:33 pm

I can’t believe the month is almost over. It’s getting very exciting! I’m looking forward to picking Matt up at the airport and bringing him back home and snuggling. It will be a huge relief after all this time apart.

I had to handle a phone call for myself today. I had a mini-panic attack but ended up okay. It was nice to know that I could handle something like that without Matt here. Still, I prefer him holding my hand. I’m weak, what can I say?

I think I’ve fixed my computer. Or at least, fixed it to the best of my ability until I get my new power supply. I’m playing the Sims 2 right now, which is why this post will be super short. I’ve started a new Legacy family and intend to go quite a ways with this one. I want to get all the way through the 10th generation! So here’s hoping, haha.

I’ve made a list of things that I need to do before Matt gets home. You know, vacuum, do laundry, clean the bookshelf. All the stuff I’ve made a mini-mess of since I’ve been sick. I’m trying a new system: I wrote each chore down on a Post-It (Post-Its are my friends. I love them!) and stuck them to the front of a notebook in a grid. When I finish the chore, I get to throw the Post-It away. It’s almost a mental thing - you know, once I get the chore done, it’s out of my mind and off of the notebook and I no longer have to worry about it!

Anyway, I’m off to take care of my poor pregnant Sim. She’s miserable!
