Memory Lane!
Posted on November 18th, 2008 @ 3:15 pm

Lately I’ve been listening to XM radio while at home, since we have the free trial of it with Matt’s car. I love putting on two stations the most: the 90s pop/rock station and the 80s/90s country station. I love them! It’s weird seeing the name of a song and going “Hm, I don’t know this one” and then realizing I can sing it from memory.

Are there any certain songs from your youth that catch you off-guard about how well you know them still?

5 Days!
Posted on April 28th, 2008 @ 10:22 pm

I have five days until my 23rd birthday. Weird, I know, that I’m counting down the way I am, like a kid waiting for their tenth birthday. But it’s one thing I get to count down to, even if it is insignificant and just another day to everyone else in the world! Matt works all day that day, so I’m hoping to find something else to do. I could do ZA with my team but I feel like my birthday should be something special. Jane’s told me that we’ll do something and she’s not quite sure what yet, so I’m waiting to see. It should be interesting, at least!

Walked to the gym today and did a Body Attack. Decided to forgo the weights and the Body Flow today because I wasn’t feeling very well - it’s good that I went at all! Matt came and picked me up from the gym because I bought a bunch of groceries to last us for the week or longer and was in no shape to walk home with them. We had a lovely dinner of lasagna (frozen, obviously) and garlic bread. Yum!

Found out some good news yesterday that started out sounding like bad news. My Grandma called me and sounded awful - she had no voice and sounded very tearful. She said “Hi Ang, it’s Grandma” and the first words out of my mouth weren’t “hello” but instead “Are you okay? What’s wrong?” because she had me so worried. She told me she just had a bad cold, which is much better news than the bad news I thought it was going to be. Anyway, she went on to tell me that she and my Grandpa might be coming up to visit me in a couple weeks and she wanted to know of the best route to get here and what are some hotels near my apartment. I’m so excited, because this will be the first visit I’ve had from anyone since I’ve lived here! It’ll be nice to show someone around on what’s now “my turf” or something.

I was hoping a bit that the next time I saw my family, that I’d be thinner than I am, but it’s okay. I’m honestly getting more comfortable with myself as I work out more. It’s about quality of life, not the amount of weight on my body, I think. I’m discovering that I’m looking better than when I started at the gym, amazingly. I looked at myself in the mirror at the gym today and thought “Wow, I don’t look as bad as I used to!” Though I think they may have magically-flattering mirrors or something. Who knows! Anyway, I’m doing more than I ever thought I could. Now, on a normal day, I can walk to the gym, work out, and walk home. I’m lifting crazy amounts of weights when I do my weight circuit. I walk up and down stairs without wanting to pass out. It’s exciting!

I have been trying to figure out a version of a song that they use in my Body Attack class, and I can’t find it anywhere! It seems to be a cover of Wham!’s “Freedom” but it’s a female singing it and it’s much more upbeat and modern. It’s driving me bananas!

Wow, I can’t say this was expected. As soon as I heard it, I knew what it was, but didn’t expect it! The song itself is fantastic anyway, but the voice/words totally caught me off guard!

New Theme at W-U.net!
Posted on July 3rd, 2007 @ 12:12 pm

My new theme rocks. It’s a totally different style than the last one, but I love it! What do you think? There’s still some work to be done behind the scenes, but for the most part, it’s set.

Yesterday, as I posted, was an awesome day. I was exhausted, so I didn’t really elaborate on much of anything, but I can now!

Katie and I went swimming, like I said. We went to a different lake than last time, and it was raining and cold out, but we were determined to have some fun and swim anyway. It was nice because there weren’t many people there.

Before we went to the lake, we went to Sobeys so I could pick up a couple things for dinner. I made tacos. I’ve been on a tacos/quesadillas/fajitas/enchiladas kick lately. Basically Mexican food, really. It was delicious, though. A big thing about the trip to Sobeys, though, is that I went out in public with a tank top and a skirt on. No jacket covering up half my body, no baggy pants to hide my stomach. Just a tank top and a skirt. I felt very happy with myself for doing this and not freaking out.

Also, I want to share a song that Matt introduced me to. It’s fantastic! It’s Tiësto with Christian Burns and it’s called In the Dark. Go watch that video. It’ll be stuck in your head for days! :P
