As expected…

My legs are killing me today. I’m going grocery shopping with Matt after he gets off work and I’m already dreading the walking. But on a happy note, I know I did something good every time I think of that number from yesterday. That’s a huge number! Not to mention most of those steps were uphill.

What the heck? Something just fell over in the closet and hit the door. That was strange. We really need to get some sort of a shelving system or something for in there but the fact is that the closet is so incredibly inconvenient that I don’t think any amount of shelving could fix it!

I need to go do dishes but I’m a bit afraid of trying to stand up as long as it’ll take to do them. Ick. My hips are barely holding me upright since yesterday and lifting my leg up (putting any pressure/weight) on the hip bone hurts like crazy. Weird that just walking did that, isn’t it?

New books!
Posted on May 27th, 2008 @ 2:10 am

On a whim the other day, Matt and I decided to make a trek over to Chapters and pick up some books. He got some geeky ones, I got some girly ones.

New books!

I’m in the middle of Remember Me right now and I’m loving it! It reminds me of Samantha Who? in a way. Fantastic show, by the way. I’m a fan of shows that are either narrated (like Sex and the City) or have mini-titles (like this one!). Anyway, back to the book. I’ve got all of the Shopaholic books and the Undomestic Goddess so I had to have this one when it came out. I waited a bit and got it for quite a discount! On top of that, each of the other four books (all Red Dress Ink, by the way, my favourite kind!) was $4.99 with a 10% discount! Go go bargain shopper! It made up for Matt’s fancy programming books (which I may use someday myself!) that I don’t happen to have a photo of right now.

Right now my head is killing me, but I had to blog. Why, you ask? This is why:
666 Published? Ew!

I want to hibernate.
Posted on December 15th, 2007 @ 2:44 am

I’ve got crazy tension in my neck lately, and I don’t know why. It’s gotten to the point where tilting my head hurts like crazy, and sitting down in my chair makes me want to lay my head down and sleep. I think part of that is because I’m tired, though. I can’t seem to get enough sleep lately. It’s not that I’m -not- sleeping, I’m just not sleeping enough. Maybe I need to hibernate. It’s the season, I tell you.

Wouldn’t that be nice, though? You could curl up in a ball and sleep until the snow went away and the sun came back out… You’d never feel cold or slip on the ice, or be afraid to drive because people automatically lose 50 IQ points if there’s snow on the ground. But at the same time, you’d never see a snowman or hear the snow crunch under your shoes or see an icicle hanging off of a rooftop. You’d never go sledding, or skiing, or snowboarding, or have a snowball fight.

I guess snow is fun. Now I want to take pictures of it! Except right now, it’s almost 3 am, and I want to sleep. Maybe I’ll slip into hibernation anyway.

I need more sleep.
Posted on October 21st, 2007 @ 1:50 pm

I slept horribly last night. I went to bed with a headache, and it woke me every hour to remind me that it was still there. I’d get temporary relief by rolling onto my other side, but it kept pounding after about a minute or so. I woke up and my headache was still there. I wasn’t happy. I took two Advil and made myself some breakfast (okay, lunch) and it’s now down to a dull roar. Thank goodness, because it was starting to make me cranky.

A few days ago I posted about Mew Mew’s mysterious ways. Well, they’ve gotten even better. We’ve tied a spoon to the end of her “pet” string. She loves it! She carries that thing everywhere. Oh, and she’s taken to sleeping on top of the laundry hamper and on top of some boxes that we have stacked in the closet. She’s unusual, but she’s fantastic. :)

Yay, Smirnoff!
Posted on October 15th, 2007 @ 10:35 pm

So, I had a Smirnoff tonight left over from a few weeks ago. Not enough to get me drunk or reasonably tipsy but there is a buzz going on. Of course, you’d think I’d had the Smirnoff before I burned my finger on the stove. Yes, that’s right. The funniest part? I burned it making comfort food. Tomato soup and grilled cheese. Went to cut my sandwich and managed to hit my finger on the burner. Fantastic, huh? It’s got a little line across it now. The cat was snuggling it. I think she knew it hurt.

I think I may do some grocery shopping tomorrow. Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on how lazy I feel.

I’m starting to appreciate things in my life a lot more. I appreciate Matt so much right now. It’d be hard not to, with him being so fantastic and always right here when I need him. I appreciate Mew Mew, because, well, she’s the thing that makes me smile the most during the day. I appreciate all the work I’m putting in to losing weight, and how I’m seeing such progress now. I’m starting to finally get out of my own way, and I love it. I spend time doing more than playing World of Warcraft, though I still love it, and I’m starting to like myself more. Which is good, because it’s been apparent that people won’t like me until I like me!

Anyway, I dunno. I’m just starting to force myself to see things in a new light. Would you believe I even answered a “private name, private number” phone call today? Me, who is terrified of the telephone. Not that I’ll be doing that any more often than I need to, because usually it’s telemarketers anyway, but still. Yay, me, and yay, progress! :)
