Spring cleaning… early?
Posted on March 1st, 2008 @ 3:43 am

It seems to be getting warmer outside, and with the sunshine and a nice even breeze coming in the window, I’ve felt more productive every day this week than before. I hope this holds through until Monday, when I go to the gym/grocery store. I was mistaken for a pregnant woman the other day and about wanted to cry. I blame this one two things though: I was wearing a flowy shirt with jeans that are too big, so it probably looked like I was wearing maternity clothes, and the lady was a bit older and a bit batty. However, this brush with embarrassment has steeled my resolve to lose this weight.

I think I have a serious body image problem. I think I see myself as much bigger and much more disgusting than I am. Because of this, I’m doing everything I can to improve my self-image. I think that with every thing that I “pat myself on the back” for and everything that I do to enhance my physical appearance will be worth it in the end. Take today for example. At the grocery store yesterday, I saw the most adorable skirt. It was calf-length and black and flowy and soft, and best of all, it was only $19! Since I still had some Christmas money left over from my Grandma, I decided I’d get it. But not only would I buy the skirt, but I’d wear it. As I’ve told a few people lately, I’m getting more and more settled into my role as a housewife and I’d honestly like to start dressing like wives and mothers dressed in the 1950s. Before you start thinking I’m crazy, just remember how tame it is in comparison to what a lot of people are doing these days!

So, I bought the skirt. And even though I spent today cleaning, I wore that skirt and my black shoes all day. Even up and down to the basement for laundry. And I’ll tell you, I felt better about myself already! For those who are wondering, here’s a picture of the skirt:

Also, speaking of pictures, my DITL from yesterday is up now. Go look at it, if you want!

It’s amazing what a clean room will do to your mood. I’m so content right now. My desk is clean, my floor is vacuumed, and all the laundry except for a basket of socks is put away. What a great evening.

Night owl.
Posted on February 29th, 2008 @ 3:15 am

I’m such a night owl. I like to stay up late and sleep in. I feel more productive when it’s dark out than when it’s light out. I feel better emotionally with the sun on me, but I feel more productive in the dark. I don’t know why that is, but that’s okay!

I did a DITL today. I’ll be posting that on my Flickr later. I ended it in an awkward way but the day was technically over! I’m trying to get up the motivation or something to go finish the dishes and get them drying, and put the laundry away, and get the loads ready to do tomorrow. I’ve decided to forgo the gym in favour of a day for myself. I’ve been sick for a week now and I figure starting with a clean slate on Monday will make me feel good. So instead of the gym, I’m dedicating tomorrow to questing in WoW and cleaning.

Speaking of WoW, we killed Void Reaver again tonight. It’s been a long time since we were killing him what with all the changes in guilds and groups and things. We figured after Gruul it’d be a nice way to bring home some loot. All that raid attendance over the past few months has paid off, as I now have my angel wings! That’s right, T5 shoulders at last! I am now a dark angel, in a way. Hooray!

I’ve been posting tons at Midnight. I love it, especially after it was just redone. It looks and functions better and it feels so good to have a clean slate there! Go join it if you haven’t already! It’s a great board with awesome members and we’re always looking for new friends! Because of spam-bots, I’ve had to enable moderated registration, so I have to manually approve new members, but I’m very quick at approving people, so don’t let that scare you off!

September Goals
Posted on September 1st, 2007 @ 12:20 pm

It’s a new month now, so I figure what better time to wipe the slate clean?

My goals for the month are going to be simple, so that I don’t lose focus.

Weight Loss
- Record everything I eat on SparkPeople. No matter what.
- Drink plenty of water - I need to be very good about drinking at least 8 glasses per day.
- No soda, at all. This won’t be -too- hard, but I need to put it in writing so it’s a solid rule for myself.
- A little bit of exercise every day. Even if it means walking around the living room in laps, which is actually more fun than it seems!
- Limit fast food to healthy choices - light subs from Subway, chicken tacos from Taco Bell, etc. No sense depriving myself, but also no sense in putting wasted calories into my body!

Social & Hobbies
- Have a movie marathon night. This is one of the items on my 101 things list, and I’d really like to do it! It seems like a nice, fairly inexpensive way to spend a night with a good friend.
- Get Thaelani to at least 50, if not 60. I need to level her, badly.
- Do at least one DITL.

Personal
- Get fingerprinted and send away for records. At least get one step out of the way for Immigration, since we’ve been procrastinating like mad. It’s probably because I’m too nervous to start thinking about the whole process, and so it sends me into panic attacks!
- Take at least five pictures per day. Maybe upload some, maybe just keep them in my photos folder.
- Stop biting my nails. For real, this time.

Also, new theme! Opinions?

What’s a day like?
Posted on July 20th, 2007 @ 1:59 am

This is what a day is like for me. It’s nothing too exciting, but that’s alright with me!

I’m preparing for an interactive post with Leesha, so be on the lookout for that!

Anyway, I’m exhausted, so I’m ending my post here and going to watch some Sex and the City (I need to brush up!) and sleep. Goodnight!
