Sex and the City!Posted on May 30th, 2008 @ 10:11 pm

Matt and I went and saw the Sex and the City movie last night. I won’t put any spoilers up because, well, it’s too soon for that and that’d be unfair. But I will say this:
When the show ended, every story line was tied up with a little bow in a perfect little package. A lot of people were worried that a movie about it would tear apart that little package and leave a lot of things messed up again. They were right, that it took apart the little bow and opened up a lot of new plotlines, but they tied it right back up in the end.
I laughed, I cried, I loved it. Really. I’d suggest anyone who was a fan of the show go see it as soon as you can!

Why is it so cold?Posted on May 26th, 2008 @ 9:00 pm
I don’t know why, but it’s freezing in our room right now. I wonder if the rest of the apartment is as cold as this… Ok, nope, it’s not quite this cold. I wonder why. Our room is warmer than the rest of them in the summer and cooler than the rest of them when it’s cold out. It makes no sense!
Went to the gym today. Did ten minutes on the bike and went in for Body Attack and only made it halfway through before my hips and back were hurting so bad that I had to leave. I was disappointed, but not too disappointed, because hey, I made it there, right? That’s got to be a step in the right direction. If I’m not too sore tomorrow I might go again and do weights and some cardio. Maybe.
I feel like I need to get out more and do things. I think this summer will be good for me though - relaxing in the sun, going to the beach, hanging out in the apartment. I have plans, but nothing too serious. We’ll see how it goes!
Last but not least: 3 days until Sex and the City! *squeal*

You probably didn’t notice, but…Posted on April 21st, 2008 @ 8:05 pm
I’ve upgraded Wordpress finally! I was putting off doing it because I was afraid that I’d screw up my entire site and lose the past three years of work, but it’s here and working and doing awesome, all thanks to Matt!
I’ve been trying to keep myself busy lately. I still have so much cleaning to do in the bedroom that it’s ridiculous. Maybe I’ll do that after this post. Who knows!
My brain is a bit all over the place, so this entry will be, too! Maybe if I do it in a list format it’ll be easier. Let’s see…
- My birthday is coming up! Believe it or not, I totally forgot how old I was turning the other day. I was like “Oh, look, I’ll be 24 in X days… wait… that doesn’t sound right…” I had to add up the years to figure it out. Is dementia setting in already? I sure hope not. 23 isn’t nearly old enough to lose my memory!
- I’ve dug my iPAQ out of hiding for the first time in about a year. I’ve been using it a lot, but am disappointed in it for two reasons.
- Nobody seems to make software (free software, that is) for this old version of Windows Mobile, so there’s not a lot I can put on it. I forget where I used to find all of the old software that I had on it, so I can’t go back and find it!
- My high-capacity SD card isn’t recognized by it, and my regular SD card is only 128mb, so I can’t put videos on it like I’d hoped and watch them while I’m at the gym (or in the tub!). Boo!
- I burned 1300 calories today with my workout. No joke. I walked to the gym (about a mile), then did weights (about half my usual circuit) then biked a mile on the stationery bike. Then I took two classes: Body Flow (the tai chi/yoga/pilates class) and Body Attack, which is a very fast-paced high impact cardio class. After that, as much as I dreaded it at this point, I made the long (a mile, remember?) trek home, where I promptly sat in my chair and wanted to sleep! It was worth it though. More days like these and I’ll look better than ever before long!
- I updated a TON of pictures to my Flickr yesterday from a trip we took ten days ago (whoops!) to Bridgewater. It was a gorgeous drive there and back, and I’m glad I took the camera (and extra batteries!).
- I’ve suggested to Jane that we do what I mentioned in the blog entry before this, for the Sex and the City movie. I don’t want to just make it “just another trip to the movies” - I’ve been waiting a few years for the movie and the characters, as stupid as this sounds, are like close friends! To quote Miranda, “It is a big fucking deal!” So hopefully we can make a bigger deal out of it than any other movie I’ve went to see.
- Speaking of Jane, we’re going to get together sometime this week and go downtown and have a lunch and walk around taking photos and stuff. I’m looking so forward to it! The weather is just starting to get nice and people are out and about. It should be fun!
So there’s my life lately in a nutshell. A whirlwind of events, but I love it!

Sex and the City
41 days.Posted on April 18th, 2008 @ 2:18 am
Those of you who know me at all know that I’ve been looking forward to/hoping for a Sex and the City movie since before it was announced. In a time where I don’t have a lot of close, personal friends, I’ve counted on the episodes of the show over and over again to keep me entertained, and in a way, “keep me company” when I’m feeling down. So it’s only natural that I’m dying to see the movie when it comes out next month!

Now, for all of you who are going to see it and are as excited as I am, a question! What are your plans? Are you just going to the theater and watching it, or are you making it into a big ordeal?
If I had anyone close by to do this with, I’d totally go all out for it. I’d get stuff to make Cosmopolitans and have some girls over for the day to drink Cosmos and watch episodes from the shows. I have all of them, so it’d be easy to do! Then we’d get all dolled up and go see the movie, and maybe even a girlie sleepover afterward.
It does seem a bit sad to me that I’ll be more than likely enjoying something so clearly about friendship by myself, but what can you do? I figure I’ll enjoy the movie anyway, no matter what!

I guess that’s why I called it a mini-break.Posted on October 3rd, 2007 @ 8:11 am
I’m pretty much back from my mini-break already. I dunno, maybe I just needed a “me” day. Either way, I think I’m pretty much feeling better.
First of all, I’ll start with a modified version of something that I wrote at one of my SparkPeople teams last night. Only because I’m too lazy to think it all up again, of course!
Hey everyone! I am in such a fantastic mood today. I have a splitting headache right now but even that can’t keep me down! I went grocery shopping with my husband and picked up three fantastic things for me aside from regular food.
- Crest Whitestrips: I decided that I would change my reward for this month to whitening my teeth instead. Hair is after I lose 20 pounds. I’ll get it cut, styled and get new shampoo and styling products. It’s a bigger reward and I can fix my teeth right now!
- Pumpkin Spice Candles: I have been CRAVING these for ages! And now I have some! Yay!
- Cheddar & Sour Cream Ruffles: I know these aren’t the healthiest snack ever, but I actually have not had these in years. Literally. They don’t usually have this flavour up here in Canada! So when I saw them in the aisle, I was so excited I couldn’t believe it. I bought the baked kind, because I didn’t want to entirely ruin my diet!
Last but not least, I saw spoilers for the Sex and the City movie today. I am SO excited for it. Honestly, I’m in a place in my life, both physically and metaphorically, where I don’t have many friends - so those girls are like my close friends when I watch the show! Okay, so I’m a loser. But you all love me, right?
Anyway, I’m done babbling. I just had to say something before I burst from the happiness!
So yeah, happy times! I’m so excited about the Sex and the City movie that I could just scream! Especially after reading all the spoilers that I read and looking at the current cast list. Excuse me while I go squeal for a while!
Today’s breakfast is a good one, too. Apple & Cinnamon Oatmeal with a cup of Red Rose tea. Yum! I’m feeling pretty icky because of all the exercise I did yesterday and because I think I’m getting a cold, so comfort food is a must!
