Oh, hello, apostrophe!Posted on April 5th, 2007 @ 8:56 am
Found at Amazon:
REGISTRY TIP: Kitchen must-have’s: a blender, mixer, coffee maker, toaster and food processor.
Apparently this apostrophe is very social. It’s blossoming, coming out of its shell. Soon we won’t be able to have a vowel next to a consonant without needing an apostrophe.
What ever happened to rules in grammar? When did random punctuation like this dreaded apostrophe (I’ve grown to hate it. Seriously.) and the ampersand start trying to take over the world? Do they have a Bad Grammar Council somewhere that meets twice a year in the room next to the Bad Spellers Anonymous meeting?
When will the madness end?
Edit: Apparently they like excessive period use as well.
Get it by Friday, April. 6, if you order in the next 4 hours and 46 minutes.
Since when is “April” an abbreviation? What does it stand for? Last I checked, it was the name of a month. Maybe it’s Aprilember, to go with the rest of them? Is there something our kindergarten teachers weren’t telling us?
