Bedtime for me.

It’s after 3 in the morning and for some reason we’re still awake. I think Matt is uploading some stuff, which he’s been doing practically all night, and I’m… browsing the internet. I’m a pretty boring girl these days, but that’s okay. I am almost completely satisfied to just hang out at home and relax. Who can say that they can do that all the time? Most people (myself three years ago included) would kill for this opportunity! So I just have to try to make the most of it.

You should see the Post-Its on my monitor. Notes about friends’ characters on alternate servers, gear I want to get, phone numbers, and last but not least, ideas for blogs. When I think of an idea, I’m usually too lazy to post it right then, and when I want to post, I can’t think of anything. Weird how that works, isn’t it?

Today has been a flashback sort of day for me. It started with a strange dream about things in my past, which I thought was weird but didn’t think too much of. Later on this evening someone said something interesting in guild chat. “Are any of you old enough to remember The Little Rascals?” I remember watching the movie with my grandparents when I was a kid. Awesome movie. Anyway, they asked because they saw a guild or an arena team or something, I’m not sure what, named the He Man Woman Haters Club. This cracked me up, because I could hear the kids saying it in the movie. This got a friend of mine mentioning how he felt old at only 22 because everything he (we, since that’s my age, too) grew up watching and playing and doing is considered “retro” these days. That got us talking about all the things we grew up with. A few things mentioned were (What, you thought you’d get away with reading a post without a list? Maybe next time!):

  • Doug
  • Rugrats (Which spawned a conversation about how crazy it was that Angelica’s mother would say “Dammit, Jonathan!” on a children’s TV show!
  • Legends of the Hidden Temple
  • Teddy Ruxpin (Oh my goodness! How I wish I still had my little video with the episodes of this on it, and my talking Teddy Ruxpin teddy bear…)
  • TGIF (This was one of the few times my family sat together in front of the TV! Every Friday, like clockwork, after dinner, we’d go in the living room and watch shows. The shows on this were varied, but the ones I remember are Full House, Perfect Strangers, Boy Meets World, Family Matters and the very short-lived Baby Talk.)
  • I Love Lucy (We talked about how awesome the show was, and how Lucille Ball broke down so many barriers in television. It’s seriously one of, if not the, best show(s) in television. Ever.

I love how random comments can start up such awesome conversations. Though it has me nostalgic. Will someone invent a time machine, and quickly?
